A Brief Guided Tour
In June of 2010 we travelled to Germany to attend the Oberammergau Passion Play. Since we were over there, we added on a 10-day guided tour of Italy with Gate 1 Travel. This gave us an opportunity to revisit places we each had been decades ago, and to add shared memories to our individual memories. Booking the trip was smooth and easy thanks to our friends at Vacations To Go.
Our Itinerary
Coming
south from Austria, over the Brenner Pass, we picked up our guide,
Michaela, in Verona. We travelled on to
Venice, where we met the others
in our group.
After a couple of days in Venice, we crossed over to Pisa and then to Florence. We spent a few days in Florence, including the Uffizi galleries, then we visited Assisi, and headed south to Rome.
After Rome and the Vatican, we continued south, past Naples to Pompeii, then to Sorrento. While in Sorrento, we took a day trip to the Isle of Capri.
